Friday!

Friday is finally here and we are wrapping up a productive week in math class.

This week students learned:
6 - Identified place values and learned how to estimate a product.
7 - Multiply and divide decimals
 8 - Add/Subtract and Multiply/Divide Integers

I'm proud of the hard work my students put in. Next week my 6th graders are going to learn how to multiply decimals. 7th graders will continue to work on long division and division of decimals. 8th Graders will be mastering integers and reviewing proportions from last year.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Classroom Pledge

"As a member of Room 408, I pledge to respect myself by making good choices, respect my classmates by treating them kindly, and take responsibility for all of my actions."

We finished the poster today!  The students signed a small pledge ribbon, colored them, and put them on the wall.  The red ribbons are 6th grade, blue are seventh, and green are eighth.

Welcome!

The 2013/2014 school year is going to be great!  I am really excited to be working with some awesome students.  We have started off the year learning about classroom procedures and practicing our multiplication facts.

This week in Math class we are going to be learning about:

6th Grade - Review: Place Values and adding/subtracting decimals.

7th Grade - Review: Place Values and multiplying decimals.

8th Grade - Absolute Value and negative numbers.

In Math Tutoring, we are setting up our Khan Academy accounts, and learning how to use this amazing tool to help us better understand Mathematical processing.  http://www.khanacademy.com
We will be doing a lot of one-on-one tutoring while using these online resources to keep track of students progress.

It's going to be a great year!  You can always contact me at fletcher.gonzalez@sumnerschools.com
